Battery clean up a great success
More than 4,100 old batteries were collected as part of the inaugral Great Battery Round Up held on 9 October at 20 RACV Service Centres across the Melbourne metropolitan area.
RACV Batteries organised the Great Battery Round Up to collect dead batteries and properly dispose of them in an environmentally friendly way. For every battery that was collected, RACV Batteries pleaged $1 to the Royal Children's Hospital. The hospital will recieve a $5,000 donation from RACV Batteries to continue its great work.
'We recieved a lot of positive feedback from the public who dropped off their old car batteries. Some had a number of old batteries that they did not know how to dispose of correctly', said Katherine Stakula, RACV Battery Round Up organiser.
