In February 2007 Club Assist acquired Western Windscreens, based in Melbourne , as the launch platform for its Automotive Glazing business.
This was then quickly followed by the acquisition of Elite Windscreens, who have sites in Narre Warren and Ringwood. Then in February 2008 Windscreen Deals were purchased, situated in the northern suburbs of Melbourne . As a consequence of these acquisitions Glass Assist was formed to offer an automotive replacement and repair service throughout Melbourne and selected regional centres.
Glass Assist is now the second largest automotive glass replacement company in Victoria , with 27 Fitters operating out of the 4 locations offering a mobile fitting service to customers.
The strategy for the business is to offer co- branded solutions serving different market segments. In December 2007 RACV Auto glass was launched as a branded service for RACV members and the work is taken and dispatched from our Call Centre based at Western Windscreens. The individual businesses continue to operate under the Glass Assist brand servicing local customers and businesses.
Glass assist has several unique services and propositions:
- A ‘Secure your car’ service in the metropolitan areas 24 hours, 7 days each week. This involves the fitting of a temporary replacement clear PETG plexiglass panel to the affected area. The vehicle is then as secure as a convertible car.
- Using high quality products to replace and repair the customer’s vehicle. This is vital as the windscreen is an integral part of the vehicles structure.
- Leveraging the club brands to offer a high quality service experience for members.
The vision is to grow the Glass Assist brand by acquiring and launching new businesses throughout Australia/ New Zealand and ultimately expanding into the other markets that we currently operate in. The intention is to continue to work with the Motoring Clubs to offer a club branded solution for their members alongside the Glass Assist brand.
The Automotive Glazing industry presents us with a fantastic opportunity to grow and establish our own brand - Glass Assist - in the market place. This will allow us to apply the Club Assist ethos in a new market and as a consequence redefine the service standards and establish ourselves as the clear market leader. |
